President Boakai in the United States to Attend 81st United Nations General Assembly

Washington D.C. September 14, 2026: His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. and delegation on Monday, September 14, safely landed at the Washington Dulles International Airport to attend the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
The President and delegation were met on arrival by the Liberian Ambassador accredited to the United States of America, Dr. Al Hassan Conteh.

According to an Executive Mansion, release, the President is scheduled meet some ranking Congressional leaders to foster US-Liberia relations.

Later, the President and his entourage will travel to New York for the United Nations engagements. President Boakai will address world leaders at the General Assembly of the United Nations on September 24, 2026, and is also expected to participate in some very important meetings on the margins of the assembly.

At the close of the activities at the United Nations, the President and some members of his delegation will travel back to Washington, DC, to participate in the Liberia Annual Diaspora Conference to be held in Alexandria, Virginia from September 25th through the 27th. The President will deliver the keynote address at this very important Conference that brings together Liberians from various countries in the Diaspora.

The Liberian leader is scheduled to pay a special visit to the Liberian Maritime Registry in Dulles, Virginia.

The President’s delegation includes Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Information Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, and Minister of State Without Portfolio Hadja Mamaka Bility. Others are the Director of the Cabinet Nathaniel Kwabo, Health Minister Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto, Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister Honorable Gbeme Kollie Horace. National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods and Youth and Sports Minister Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah are also part of the delegation.
