Embassy of Liberia Staffers Attend ACCESS DC Young Diplomats Reception

On Thursday, May 7, 2015 ACCESS DC celebrated its 15th Annual Young Diplomats Reception. The Arts Club of Washington hosted the annual event for 130 DC young professionals including 65 diplomats from 35 countries. In honor of this year's theme of "Culinary Diplomacy: The Art of Breaking Bread & Building Bridges," the reception included special regional cuisine stations with wine and beer pairings from Latin America, Pan-Asia, Europe, and the Mediterraran. An anniversary cake was specially ordered from Raresweets.After the reception, guests joined for a culinary diplomacy discussion with panelists Chef Eric Ziebold from the American Chef Corps Member in the U.S. Department of State, Lauren Bernstein Director of the Diplomatic Culinary Partnership for the U.S. Department of State, and Maziar Farivar Chef and Co-Owner of the Peacock Cafe Georgetown. AJC Associate Executive Director for Policy from the AJC Office of Government and International Affairs Jason Isaacson modereated the discussion.Representing the Embassy of Liberia were Jolen Manning, Diaspora Officer and Communications Assistant, Kate Tisdell
