
Washington, D.C. – April 10, 2013: On Saturday, March 30, 2013, His Excellency Jeremiah Jeremiah C. Sulunteh, Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the United States, served as the Keynote Speaker at the induction of officers of the Association of Citizens and Friends of Liberia (ACFLi) in Sacramento, CA. Those indicted at the well-attended program were Mrs. Narwale Washington-Agborsangaya, president; Boima Konuwa, vice president; Amos Mongrue, secretary; Penti Tarpeh, III, treasurer; Veronica Topor, assistant treasurer; and Charles Yates; financial secretary.
Member of the Board of Directors inducted were Mr. Sam Koaloe, chair; Christiana Bendu Hunter, member; Alvin Porte, member; and Christiana Wilson, member.
The Installing Officer was Mr. Gaye Sleh, President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA).
Also featured at the installation event were Miss Anjanaa Senthilkumar and Miss Orgilmaa Munkhbaatar, both students of the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento County, who spoke about the textbook project for Liberia.
On Sunday, March 31, Ambassador Sulunteh attended Easter Service with the Liberian community at the Friends in Jesus Ministries, a leading Liberian-oriented church in the Sacramento area. The service was well-attended and inspiring.
Following the service, Ambassador Sulunteh also participated in a town-hall meeting organized by ACFLi, during which he engaged members of the community relative to questions and concerns that they had regarding the state of affairs in Liberia and the Embassy in Washington, D.C.
The visit, which was his first to California, afforded him the opportunity to personally interact with people from all sectors of the Liberian community in the area, as a way of taking the Liberian Government to Liberians in the Diaspora. Please click this link to see some photos of the event==>>
